A religious trip to Nashik

The ancient city has always been on my radar for the famous Trimbakeshwar temple, but the poor Pune-Nashik(2 lane) highway was one of the reason to not go. But after I went to Shirdi this summer, I observed good 4 lane roads in parts. So, this trip was coming up the list and was also a natural choice while travelling with family.

Travel creates a unique bond and that’s my way to build relations that truly last. You get to know the person, their life and give/have their undivided attention.

Now, back to the setting I had done in my living room with a window view of trees, coffee sipping and going back in memories. This is the setting I did long back but only using it first time for writing.

Trimbakeshwar Temple, 40 mins drive

The Gateway Hotel, Ambad

Day1
We traveled on Saturday and reached at our hotel around 1pm after a 8am start with breaks for breakfast and tea. Refreshed ourselves and went for lunch at MasalaZone in Ambad, a good find. After that, proceeded towards Godavari at Somewashwar temple, later Ganagapur dam and finally at Trimbakeshwar.

Day2
Had a swim and breakfast and then decided to skip visit to York winery since it was almost 12pm and wanted to be back on time and others were less interested (non drinkers). So, headed for Panchvati and enjoyed by walk all the temples and old shops.

Back to Pune by 9pm after 3pm start with breaks and usual traffic at Rajguru nagar. Overall, a nice trip.

Now, back to the original reason for writing this blog after so long, inspired from a fellow traveler ,A guy on his own trip’.

Planning for travel takes a lot out of you. From choosing the mode of travel, to where to stay and eat and itinerary takes effort. You head is constantly thinking ahead of next 3-4 hours on what to do and you don't really enjoy the "moment". I miss those unplanned trips where we were traveling aimlessly, we had the destination fixed but not the route. We didn't know where to stay, what to eat. It just happened while being in the "present".

Hoping to find a balance after all that's what life is all about! :)
